The Beacon House Supper Club returns between 18:00 – 22:00 on Thursday 14th May at the Slack Space venue in Colchester. The Spring edition will see homeless men and women work closely alongside chef Byron Higgins from #VCatering to create, prepare and serve a vegan street food.

The first-ever, fully booked Beacon House Supper Club last year on the 4th December 2014 not only served up delicious food but also provided a platform for two of the homeless chefs to gain local employment through demonstrating hard work and ability to head chef Simon Collins from Three Wise Monkeys.

Vivienne Wiggins, Beacon House Centre Manager said “We would love to have you over for supper. Homeless people are often dismissed but people who do this ignore a large amount of potential and talent. Those who use Beacon House include talented chefs. The Beacon House Supper Club provides the opportunity for those who use Beacon House to show what they can do, and for the diners to take the opportunity to recognise the unique value of those who are homeless.”

This edition of the Beacon House Supper Club, supported by Waitrose will be located in the courtyard and conservatory of Slack Space, accessed through the main entrance of Slack Space just off Queen Street in Colchester. Diners will enjoy vegan street food with DJ Dave Goddard spinning a selection of eclectic vinyl records. All proceeds will go towards helping the homeless in Colchester, some of whom will be cooking for and serving you. Menu to be announced soon.
